Allegheny County Drops $3 Million To Turn Renters Into Homeowners

Allegheny County relaunched its 1st Home Allegheny program with $3 million to help low- and moderate-income first-time homebuyers outside Pittsburgh. The program offers forgivable, 0% interest loans of $10,000 or $45,000 for down payments and closing costs, with income limits based on household size. Applicants must be first-time buyers, pre-approved for a mortgage, and complete HUD-certified education. Local banks partner to provide financing.
