Allegheny County’s first-time homebuyer program gets renewed with $3 million

The 1st Home Allegheny program, funded with $3 million, assists low- and moderate-income first-time homebuyers in Allegheny County with forgivable loans of $10,000 or $45,000 for down payments and closing costs. Eligible buyers must not have owned a home in three years, be pre-approved for a mortgage, and complete a homebuyer education course. Loans are forgiven after 15 years of homeownership to promote stability.
